Adult Found Dead Inside Vehicle After Fire at Gilbert Business Complex

GILBERT, Ariz. — An adult was found dead inside a vehicle after a fire broke out early Wednesday morning at a business complex near Higley and Williams Field roads, according to the Gilbert Police Department.

Gilbert Police and Gilbert Fire & Rescue responded to the vehicle fire just before 12:30 a.m. on September 23, 2026.

After firefighters extinguished the flames, authorities discovered an adult deceased inside the vehicle. Gilbert police detectives and Gilbert fire investigators then took over the investigation.

Police said the preliminary investigation, evidence collected at the scene and nearby surveillance video indicate the incident appears to be isolated.

Investigators said there are no outstanding subjects and no current concern for the safety of the surrounding community.

Gilbert Police also said investigators have found no evidence of criminal involvement or foul play at this stage of the investigation.

The area has since been cleared, and the business complex has reopened.

The investigation remains ongoing.
