High-Speed Pursuit Ends in Arrest After 150 MPH Chase Across Gandy Bridge

TAMPA, FL — A Wesley Chapel teenager is behind bars following a harrowing high-speed chase that spanned two counties late Saturday night.

The incident began around 10:40 PM on February 7, 2026, when a Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) aviation unit on routine patrol spotted a group of motorcycles racing and driving recklessly along Westshore Boulevard.

According to FHP reports, the aircraft tracked the group as they sped across the Gandy Bridge into Pinellas County. As the riders reached the other side, a trooper on the ground attempted to initiate a traffic stop. While most of the group dispersed, one rider chose to flee.

The suspect, later identified as 19-year-old Michael Alexander Fiallo, led authorities on a dangerous pursuit through 4th Street before merging onto southbound I-275. FHP officials estimate the motorcycle reached speeds of approximately 150 MPH during the flight.

The chase eventually moved toward Carillon Parkway, where Fiallo reportedly abandoned his motorcycle and attempted to escape on foot. The eye in the sky remained fixed on his position, allowing troopers to close in and apprehend him within a nearby parking garage.

Charges Filed

Fiallo, a resident of Wesley Chapel, faces multiple charges following the night's events:

  • Fleeing and Eluding (High Speed)
  • Reckless Driving
  • Operating a Motorcycle Without an Endorsement

Fiallo was transported and booked into the Pinellas County Jail. Fortunately, no injuries were reported during the pursuit despite the extreme speeds involved.
