POINCIANA, Fla. — A large brush fire is sending heavy smoke into the sky near Poinciana Parkway Wednesday afternoon, prompting drivers to use caution as firefighters work to contain the blaze.

According to information available as of 3:00 p.m., Osceola County Fire Rescue is actively battling the fire in a wooded area near Poinciana Parkway. The fire has burned more than 2 acres and remains an active incident.

The smoke plume has been visible from several areas around Poinciana, with motorists reporting reduced visibility near the scene.

The fire appears to be burning on property that may belong to Taylor Morrison, although iSkyNews.com is still working to independently confirm property ownership.

Drivers are urged to slow down, increase their following distance, and remain alert for emergency vehicles operating in the area. Smoke conditions can change quickly and may create hazardous travel conditions.
