Osceola Response Team Launches Bold Back-to-School Challenge — Man to Stay on Top of Bus Until 3,000 Donations Are Collected
St. Cloud, FL – In a heartfelt and ambitious effort to support local students, Richard Herr, Executive Director of the Osceola Response Team, will climb atop a school bus on Saturday, August 2 at 10:00 AM — and he won’t come down rain or shine until 3,000 items or donations are collected to help families in need.
The event is taking place at 1918 13th Street in St. Cloud, and is backed by Steven Pugh of Home Pride Realty, a longtime supporter of the community and personal friend of Herr for over 30 years.
“This isn’t just a stunt — it’s a mission,” said Herr. “We believe in our community, our partners, and most of all, in Jesus Christ, to help us make this happen. Let’s do this for the kids!”
🎒 How You Can Help:
✔️ Bring School Supplies
✔️ Make a Donation
✔️ Share the Cause
The goal is to collect 3,000 total donations — anything from backpacks and pencils to monetary contributions.
As Herr puts it, “Either way, I’m not touching the ground until we hit that number.”
