MESA, Ariz. — A large police presence, including a SWAT team, responded to a barricade situation Wednesday evening near Dobson Road and West Dartmouth Street in Mesa that lasted nearly four hours.

According to Prime News Network, the incident began around 8:00 p.m. after a reported call for service involving a man who was allegedly threatening neighbors with a bow and arrow. The situation quickly escalated, prompting Mesa Police to deploy SWAT officers and specialized tactical resources to the neighborhood.

During the standoff, officers reportedly utilized multiple less-lethal tactics in an effort to gain compliance from the suspect. Witnesses at the scene estimated that between 10 and 15 flashbang devices were deployed, along with approximately 10 to 30 rounds of tear gas throughout the incident.

Despite the repeated deployments, witnesses said the suspect did not immediately comply with police commands or tactical measures.

Several residents remained outside during portions of the incident, observing the significant law enforcement response as armored vehicles and tactical officers surrounded the area.

The barricade situation reportedly came to an end around 11:45 p.m. Authorities have not yet released official information regarding the suspect's identity, whether any arrests were made, or if anyone was injured during the incident.
