Brush Fire Contained After Vehicle Ignites in Remote Goodyear Farm Area

GOODYEAR, AZ — Fire crews from multiple agencies responded swiftly on Monday after a vehicle fire in a remote farming area of Goodyear ignited nearby brush, threatening to escalate into a larger wildfire.

According to officials, Goodyear Fire crews were first on scene after a vehicle caught fire in an isolated desert area surrounded by dry vegetation. Due to breezy conditions and highly flammable brush, the flames quickly began to spread.

Thanks to a coordinated response involving Goodyear Fire, Arizona Fire & Medical, Phoenix Fire, and State Fire, the blaze was rapidly contained before it could reach nearby structures or expand further into the desert.

“These types of incidents really showcase the strength of our interagency partnerships,” a Goodyear Fire spokesperson said. “When we respond together, we move faster, stay safer, and protect more of our community.”

Photos from the scene show scorched desert terrain, a fully burned-out vehicle, and teams from multiple departments working together to contain the fire.
