HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. — A vehicle fire involving a truck caused traffic disruptions Friday afternoon near a busy Hillsborough County interchange.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, troopers responded to the scene around 4:20 p.m. at the northbound ramp from US-301 to Interstate 75.

Investigators say the fire was the result of a mechanical issue involving the truck. Images from the scene show the vehicle heavily damaged by flames, with emergency crews working to secure the area and prevent the fire from spreading.

Despite the intensity of the incident, no injuries were reported.

As a result of the fire, the northbound ramp from US-301 to I-75 has been temporarily closed, and motorists are being advised to expect delays while crews work to clear the scene and ensure the roadway is safe for travel.

Drivers in the area are encouraged to seek alternate routes if possible.

The situation remains active as authorities continue their response.
