Two Juveniles Arrested in Scottsdale Kidnapping and Home Invasion
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — Two juveniles have been arrested in connection with a violent home invasion, attempted robbery, and kidnapping incident that unfolded in Scottsdale late last month, according to the Scottsdale Police Department.
The incident occurred on January 31, 2026, at approximately 10:44 a.m., when officers responded to a report of an unknown problem at a residence in the 9800 block of Windrose Drive. Upon arrival, officers discovered an active home invasion in progress.
Police say officers approaching the home observed a female victim inside screaming for help and saw a juvenile suspect physically struggling with an adult male victim. Officers immediately forced entry into the residence, prompting two suspects to flee through the rear of the home.
The suspects entered a vehicle and attempted to escape, leading officers on a brief pursuit. The chase ended when the suspects drove into a nearby strip mall and reached a dead-end, where both juveniles were taken into custody without incident or injury.
Investigators later determined the suspects posed as delivery service employees to gain access to the home. Once the door was opened, the suspects forced their way inside, restrained two victims, while a third victim managed to hide elsewhere in the residence. Police recovered evidence related to the crime both at the home and inside the suspect vehicle.
The juveniles were arrested on multiple felony charges, including three counts of aggravated assault, kidnapping, second-degree burglary, criminal impersonation, disorderly conduct, and felony flight. They were transported to the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office Durango Juvenile Detention Facility.
The investigation remains ongoing. Due to the suspects’ ages, authorities say no additional identifying information will be released. Police emphasized the incident was isolated, with no ongoing threat to the community and no outstanding suspects.
“This case reflects the outstanding teamwork, training, and decisive action of our officers,” said Joe LeDuc, Chief of Police. “They moved quickly, coordinated effectively, and brought a dangerous situation to a safe conclusion. Let this be clear—if you come to Scottsdale to commit violent crimes, our officers will find you and hold you accountable.”
