MANHUNT UNDERWAY: Troopers Identify Speeding Motorcyclist Who Fled Into Woods After US-301 Pursuit
HERNANDO COUNTY, FL – Authorities are searching for a Webster man after a high-speed pursuit on US-301 ended in a foot chase through dense Florida woodland early Saturday morning.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), the incident began at approximately 7:20 AM on February 7, 2026. A state trooper observed a motorcyclist speeding and illegally passing traffic on US-301 near Ranchette Boulevard.
When the trooper attempted to initiate a traffic stop, the rider refused to pull over, accelerating away and leading authorities on a brief pursuit. The motorcyclist eventually ditched the bike at 8037 Treiman Boulevard before disappearing on foot into a nearby wood line.
A massive search operation was launched, involving FHP Troopers and K9 units, along with Deputies from both the Hernando County and Sumter County Sheriff’s Offices. Despite a concerted, multi-agency effort to establish a perimeter, the rider managed to evade capture.
Suspect Identified
Investigating troopers have officially identified the suspect as 51-year-old Stanley Winston Duket of Webster, Florida.
Law enforcement is now asking for the public's assistance in locating Duket. If you have any information regarding his current whereabouts, you are urged to contact the Florida Highway Patrol by dialing *FHP (*347) or submit an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers at **TIPS.
Duket may face multiple charges, including fleeing and eluding a law enforcement officer and various traffic violations.
