KISSIMMEE, FL — A complex, multi-year investigation into the death of a young man found in a Range Rover has culminated in the indictment and arrest of three suspects. The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office announced this week that the 2024 shooting death of Kashorn Armand was a premeditated act linked to organized gang activity.

A Grisly Discovery

The case began in the early hours of November 15, 2024. At approximately 2:45 a.m., deputies responded to what was initially reported as a traffic crash at the intersection of Greenup Street and Smith Street.

Upon arrival, however, first responders found a much more violent scene. Inside a Range Rover sat the lifeless body of 20-year-old Armand, who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds. The Sheriff’s Office Homicide and Forensic Units, alongside the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE), immediately launched an intensive probe into the shooting.

After months of forensic analysis and detective work, authorities identified three primary suspects. At the time of the murder, two of the individuals were juveniles.

The suspects have been identified as:

  • Ta’Shard Smith (18)
  • Sincere McKenzie (18)
  • Cornelius Walls (21)

In January 2026, the State Attorney’s Office presented the findings to a Grand Jury. Following the testimony, all three men were indicted on homicide charges. Due to the nature of the crime, the warrants included gang enhancements, which can lead to significantly stiffer penalties upon conviction.

Apprehension and Arrests

The final phase of the investigation concluded this week. While Walls and McKenzie were already in custody at state correctional facilities on separate matters, Ta’Shard Smith remained at large.

Following a coordinated effort with the U.S. Marshals’ Office, Smith was located and apprehended. He was booked into the Osceola County Jail on February 3, 2026.

"This tragic case illustrates the ongoing challenges law enforcement faces in addressing gang-related violence," the Sheriff’s Office stated, emphasizing that the murder was not a random act but a "premeditated conspiracy."

While these arrests mark a major milestone in the Armand case, the Sheriff’s Office noted that other unrelated homicides in the area remain under investigation. They are urging anyone with information to come forward to help curb local violence.
