Brush Fire Damages Building Near Kissimmee Gateway Airport, Roads Closed
KISSIMMEE, Fla. — Fire crews are responding to a brush fire that ignited a building and nearby vegetation near Kissimmee Gateway Airport on Tuesday.
The fire broke out at Aviation Blade Services, located at 3969 Merlin Drive, where flames spread through surrounding brush just 10 feet from the business. Kissimmee Fire Department units were dispatched to the scene, including brush trucks and the Fire Chief.
Firefighters worked to contain the fire and prevent further spread to nearby structures. As a precaution, Fifth Street was shut down to allow emergency crews to operate safely in the area.
Officials say the fire remains active, and crews are still on scene monitoring conditions. Drivers are urged to avoid the area and use alternate routes while suppression efforts continue.
No injuries have been reported at this time. The cause of the fire has not yet been released.
This is a developing story and updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
