MESA, AZ — Mesa Fire & Medical crews responded to a reported fire inside an elevator at Fellowship Square, a senior living facility located at 35 W Brown Rd, shortly after 10:00 p.m. Wednesday night.

Upon arrival, firefighters encountered a light haze in the hallway, which prompted an immediate upgrade to a Working 1st Alarm Fire to ensure rapid additional resources. Units from Mesa Police also responded to assist with the scene.

The suspected source of the fire appears to be an electrical panel inside the elevator shaft, though the official cause remains under investigation. One individual was treated on-site for minor smoke inhalation, and minor evacuationswere conducted as a precaution.

As of 11:00 p.m., fire crews have cleared the scene, and a Mesa Fire Investigator has been dispatched to conduct a thorough follow-up.

No major injuries or structural damages were reported.
