APACHE JUNCTION, Ariz. — Ten individuals were arrested during a multi-agency undercover operation targeting online child predators and human traffickers, according to the Apache Junction Police Department.

The two-day operation, conducted June 5-6, focused on individuals allegedly using the internet and social media platforms to solicit minors for sexual activity.

During the operation, undercover investigators posed as underage children online and communicated with individuals who believed they were arranging meetings with minors. After establishing probable cause through documented communications, investigators coordinated meetings at a controlled location where the suspects were taken into custody.

Authorities said all ten suspects traveled to Apache Junction from other Arizona communities believing they were meeting a child for sexual activity. None of those arrested were residents of Apache Junction.

The suspects were booked into the Pinal County Adult Detention Center on felony charges that include:

  • Luring a Minor for Sexual Exploitation
  • Aggravated Luring
  • Attempted Sexual Conduct with a Minor
  • Sex Trafficking
  • Misconduct Involving Weapons

Officials said bond amounts were set as high as $350,000.

The operation was conducted through a partnership involving the Apache Junction Police Department, Chandler Police Department, Mesa Police Department, Queen Creek Police Department, Arizona Department of Public Safety GIITEM, Homeland Security Investigations, Rocky Mountain Information Network, Drug Enforcement Administration, Pinal County Attorney's Office, Darkhorse Benefits, and the Arizona Anti-Human Trafficking Network.

Law enforcement officials emphasized that protecting children requires a coordinated effort between agencies and community organizations.

"This operation brought together agencies from across the East Valley and beyond with a shared mission: identify those seeking to exploit children and hold them accountable," officials said.

The Apache Junction Police Department stated that it remains committed to aggressively investigating crimes involving child exploitation, human trafficking, and offenses against vulnerable populations.

The investigation remains ongoing.
