APACHE JUNCTION, Ariz. — An overnight crash prompted a response from police and multiple fire departments early Sunday morning after a person was found trapped inside the heavily damaged vehicle.
Around 12:30 a.m. on October 25, 2026, officers with the Apache Junction Police Department, along with firefighters from Mesa Fire & Medical and Superstition Fire & Medical, responded to the area of Meridian Road and Southern Avenue following reports of a serious crash.
When emergency crews arrived, they discovered a wrecked Tesla just east of Meridian Road on Southern Avenue, with one person trapped inside.
Due to the damage sustained by the vehicle, firefighters were required to perform an extrication to safely remove the trapped individual.
After being freed from the wreckage, the occupant was evaluated by emergency medical personnel before being transported to a nearby hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening.
Occupant's Statement Prompts Search for Possible Ejected Victim
While emergency crews were investigating the crash, the individual found trapped inside the Tesla reportedly told first responders that he was not the person driving the vehicle.
That statement raised concerns that another occupant could have been thrown from the Tesla during the crash.
Emergency personnel searched the surrounding area for a possible ejected victim, but no signs of another person were discovered.
It remains unclear why the injured occupant initially claimed he was not driving or whether anyone else had been inside the Tesla before the crash.
Apache Junction police investigated the circumstances surrounding the collision.
The extent of the damage to the Tesla suggests the vehicle was involved in a significant impact, although details about what caused the crash have not been released.
The injured individual remained under medical care at the hospital following the incident.
Authorities have not provided additional information regarding the vehicle's speed, whether impairment may have been a factor, or what caused the driver to lose control.
iSkyNews.com will continue monitoring this incident and provide updates as additional information becomes available.
