MESA, AZ — Two people were injured Friday afternoon after gunfire reportedly ricocheted inside a gun store near Alma School Road and Guadalupe Road in Mesa.

The incident happened shortly after 12:30 p.m. Friday, September 11th along South Alma School Road.

According to preliminary information, someone was reportedly test-firing a gun into a barrel when a round ricocheted and struck two people.

One victim was struck in the head and was described as having a minor injury. A second victim was struck in the arm and had a tourniquet applied.

Mesa Police secured the scene before firefighters and medical crews entered the business.

Both patients were conscious when emergency crews reached them. Two ambulances were requested, and both victims were expected to be transported for further medical treatment.

No additional details about the circumstances surrounding the incident or the current conditions of the victims were immediately available.
