MESA, Ariz. — Mesa Police are investigating a stabbing that left two men injured Tuesday evening near Skyline Park in east Mesa.

Officers responded to the area of 655 South Crismon Road at approximately 7:30 p.m. after receiving reports of a fight involving multiple people, according to information provided directly to iSkyNews.com by the Mesa Police Department.

Police initially reported that one adult male had been transported to a local hospital with injuries consistent with stab or cut wounds. His injuries were initially described as life-threatening.

In a later update, Mesa Police said the victim’s condition had been upgraded to critical but stable.

Investigators also confirmed that a second adult male victim was transported to a local hospital with an injury consistent with a stab or cut wound. His injuries are currently considered non-life-threatening.

Police said one person has been detained in connection with the incident. Investigators are continuing to work to determine that person’s involvement and the circumstances that led up to the violence.
