KISSIMMEE, Fla. — The Osceola County Sheriff's Office says its deputies arrested 30 impaired drivers during DUI enforcement operations in June, highlighting the agency's continued efforts to keep dangerous drivers off local roadways.
According to the Sheriff's Office, the arrests were made by members of the Traffic Unit as part of the national Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign in partnership with Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) Central Florida.
Officials say every DUI arrest represents more than just an enforcement action—it may have prevented a serious crash or saved a life.
"Impaired driving is deadly. A DUI crash can change lives in seconds," the Sheriff's Office said in a social media post released Monday.
The agency noted that each DUI investigation requires hours of work by deputies, including field sobriety testing, evidence collection, arrest processing, and report preparation.
Sheriff Christopher A. Blackmon praised the Traffic Unit and patrol deputies for their commitment to keeping Osceola County roads safe through proactive enforcement.
The Sheriff's Office is encouraging the public to play a role in preventing impaired driving by reporting suspected intoxicated drivers.
"If you see a suspected impaired driver, call 9-1-1," the Sheriff's Office said. "Your actions could save a life."
Driving under the influence remains one of the leading causes of serious and fatal crashes across Florida, and law enforcement agencies continue to remind motorists to plan ahead by using a designated driver, rideshare service, taxi, or public transportation if they plan to consume alcohol or drugs.
The Sheriff's Office says enforcement efforts will continue throughout the year as deputies work to reduce impaired driving and improve roadway safety throughout Osceola County.
