Chandler Police: Doctor Arrested on Sexual Assault Charge; Detectives Believe More Victims May Be Out There

CHANDLER, Ariz. — A Chandler doctor is behind bars after police say two female patients accused him of inappropriate sexual contact during separate medical appointments, and investigators now believe there could be additional victims.

According to the Chandler Police Department, 48-year-old Hassan Kahn was arrested on Wednesday, July 8, on a charge of sexual assault following an investigation into allegations involving patients at his medical office near Chandler Boulevard and Cooper Road.

Detectives say the two women came forward independently, each reporting that Dr. Kahn allegedly touched them in an inappropriate sexual manner during scheduled medical examinations.

As investigators looked into the allegations, police said they developed probable cause to arrest Kahn.

Now, detectives are asking anyone who may have had a similar experience—or anyone with information related to the investigation—to come forward.

"We understand the sensitive nature of these investigations," Chandler Police said in a statement. "We want to ensure the identity of any reporting individual remains anonymous to the public."

Anyone wishing to speak with investigators can call the Chandler Police Department's non-emergency line at 480-782-4130. Reports may also be made in person at the department's main station, located at 250 E. Chicago Street in Chandler, by requesting to speak with a detective.

Police have not said whether they believe there are additional victims, but the public appeal suggests investigators are working to determine whether anyone else may have experienced similar incidents.

The investigation remains active.

As with any criminal case, the charge is an allegation. Hassan Kahn is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
