New Public Safety Facility Rising in Northeast Mesa Near Completion
Mesa, AZ — A state-of-the-art public safety facility is nearing completion in northeast Mesa, marking a significant investment in the community's emergency response infrastructure.
Located at 1333 N. Power Road, just north of Brown Road, the Northeast Public Safety Facility will serve as a combined Mesa Fire and Medical Department station and Mesa Police Department substation, providing critical services to the growing region. Construction is funded through 2018 Public Safety Bonds and Capital General Funds, with full completion anticipated in Fall 2025.
The facility spans approximately 50,000 square feet and is designed to accommodate both fire and law enforcement operations under one roof. It features four large apparatus bays capable of housing up to two fire crews, a battalion unit, and an ambulance crew. On the police side, the building will support up to 150 uniformed officers and civilian staff.
Shared spaces include:
- A public lobby
- A community and training room
- A job/task conditioning center
- Several conference rooms
City planners also prioritized sustainability in the design. The building incorporates energy-efficient appliances, natural lighting, lighting control systems, and a desertscape exterior that minimizes water usage.
Mesa officials believe this project reflects a modern approach to public safety and community integration.
“This facility is not just about bricks and mortar. It’s about building a safer, more connected community,” said a city spokesperson. “We’re excited to open a building that’s as functional as it is forward-thinking.”
In addition to the new Power Road site, Mesa Police and Fire operations will continue to maintain a presence at 3932 N. Recker Road, ensuring continued coverage and accessibility throughout the northeast region of the city.
