22-Year-Old Man Shot in Chest at Poinciana Gas Station; Two Suspects Taken Into Custody

POINCIANA, Fla. — A 22-year-old man was shot in the chest during a late-night shooting at a Poinciana gas station, prompting an urgent medical response and a search that ended with two suspects being taken into custody early Saturday morning.
The shooting occurred at approximately 11 p.m. Friday at the Village Market Exxon Mobil, located at 4055 Lake Marion Creek Drive in Poinciana.
The Polk County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene and began investigating the shooting as an attempted murder.
Victim Shot in Chest, Urgently Needed Blood
Preliminary information obtained by iSkyNews.com indicates the victim is a 22-year-old male who suffered a gunshot wound to the chest.
According to information from Polk County Fire Rescue, the victim was in urgent need of blood following the shooting. A Battalion Chief responded to assist with a blood transfusion due to the seriousness and immediate nature of the situation.
The victim was transported to Polk County Fire Rescue Station 37, where efforts were made to initiate the urgently needed blood transfusion.
The victim's current condition has not been officially released.
Suspect Vehicle Flees, Crashes on Rio Grande Court
Following the shooting, a white sedan believed to be connected to the incident fled the gas station.
The vehicle later crashed into a grassy area near a residence at 421 Rio Grande Court in Poinciana.
Law enforcement established a presence around the crashed vehicle as investigators continued working both scenes.
Footage obtained by iSkyNews.com from the investigation shows evidence markers at the gas station, forensic personnel processing the scene, witness interviews, numerous law enforcement vehicles, and the crashed white sedan on Rio Grande Court.
A tow truck later arrived to remove the vehicle as part of the investigation.
Two Suspects in Custody
As the investigation continued into the early morning hours, two suspects were taken into custody by approximately 2 a.m.
The suspects were being transported to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office Ridge District Substation on Marigold Avenue.
The identities of the two suspects and the specific charges they may face have not yet been officially released.
The circumstances that led to the shooting, including what occurred immediately before shots were fired, also remain under investigation.
