MESA, Ariz. — Mesa Police have arrested a man accused of stealing delivery packages from residential front porches across the city in what investigators describe as a months-long package theft spree.

According to the Mesa Police Department, detectives identified 28-year-old Luan Nguyen as the suspect in a series of thefts that occurred between March 27, 2026, and June 5, 2026. Investigators believe Nguyen was responsible for more than 15 package thefts in Mesa and one additional theft in the Town of Gilbert.

Police say the investigation began after multiple reports of stolen delivery packages from homes throughout the area. Through investigative efforts, detectives were able to connect Nguyen to the thefts and determine that more than $2,800 worth of merchandise had been taken from residents.

According to investigators, some of the stolen items were allegedly kept for personal use while others were sold online.

Nguyen was booked into jail on the following charges:

  • Theft (ARS 13-1802.A1), Class 5 Felony
  • Trafficking in Stolen Property (ARS 13-2307.A), Class 3 Felony
  • Possession of Dangerous Drugs (ARS 13-3407.A1), Class 4 Felony

Mesa Police say the investigation remains active as detectives work to identify additional victims and determine whether Nguyen may be connected to other package theft incidents in the region.

Authorities are encouraging anyone who believes they may have been a victim or who has information related to the thefts to contact the Mesa Police Department at 480-644-2211.

With online shopping and home deliveries continuing to grow in popularity, police are reminding residents to monitor package deliveries, utilize doorbell cameras when possible, and retrieve deliveries promptly to help reduce the risk of theft.
