ORLANDO, FL — What started as a strange sound in a school parking lot turned into a heartwarming rescue that brought together first responders and school staff in the best way possible.

At Azalea Park Elementary, concerned individuals reported hearing faint meows coming from a parked Ford Escape. That’s when a team effort quickly came together, involving Orlando Police, school staff, and Orlando Fire Department Tower 11 B-Shift, all determined to find the source.

After carefully inspecting the vehicle, crews discovered a small orange tabby kitten trapped inside the engine compartment.

With patience and care, the team worked together to safely remove the kitten — a delicate operation that required both precision and compassion.

The tiny survivor was later nicknamed “Inferno,” a fitting name for a kitten found tucked away in such a hot and dangerous spot.

Orlando Fire Department Engineer Brian Cable, along with Firefighters Alex Muriel and Alec Ribbink, and the school’s resource officer played a key role in the successful rescue.

❤️ And the best part? “Inferno” didn’t just get a second chance — the kitten has already found a new forever home with one of the school’s employees.

Moments like this are a powerful reminder that even the smallest calls can have the biggest impact.

This rescue highlights the teamwork and heart of our local first responders and community — proving that in Orlando, no life is too small to save.
