According to authorities, the incident happened on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at approximately 2:19 a.m. near 401 S. Mill Avenue. Officers responded in under 20 seconds, where they located a man suffering from a gunshot wound. Police immediately began life-saving efforts before the victim was transported to a nearby hospital. Despite those efforts, he later died from his injuries.
The victim has been identified as 22-year-old Jacob Jaime.
A second man was also injured during the incident, though his injuries were described as non-life-threatening, and he did not require hospitalization.
