Concrete Truck Overturns on Wet SR-589 Near SR-52, Tampa Driver Hospitalized

PASCO COUNTY, Fla. — A concrete truck overturned Tuesday afternoon on State Road 589 near State Road 52 after its driver lost control while traveling on the wet roadway.
The crash happened at approximately 3:30 p.m. on August 25, 2026, along the southbound lanes of SR-589.
According to preliminary information provided to iSkyNews.com, the concrete truck was being driven southbound by a 55-year-old Tampa man when the vehicle lost traction on the wet pavement.
Investigators said the driver lost control of the truck, causing it to rotate toward the outside shoulder before overturning.
Photos from the scene show the heavily damaged concrete truck lying on its side off the roadway, with debris scattered across the grassy shoulder. The truck appears to have traveled through the roadside area before coming to rest near a fence line.
Emergency crews responded to the crash, along with law enforcement officers. The driver suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to an area hospital for treatment.
The crash occurred as wet roadway conditions affected portions of the area Tuesday afternoon.
Drivers traveling through the SR-589 and SR-52 area were urged to use additional caution around the crash scene while emergency crews and recovery equipment worked to clear the overturned commercial vehicle and debris.
No additional injuries were reported in the preliminary information provided.
The crash remains under investigation, and additional details may be released as they become available.
