Three Killed After Car Veers Off I-95, Crashes Into Tree and Catches Fire in Brevard County

PALM BAY, Fla. – Three people are dead following a fiery crash Tuesday morning on Interstate 95 in Palm Bay, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Troopers responded to the crash at approximately 9:49 a.m. on northbound I-95 near mile marker 172, south of State Road 514 in Brevard County.

According to preliminary information from FHP, a 2025 Hyundai Elantra was traveling northbound in the center lane when, for reasons still under investigation, it left the roadway.

A witness told investigators the Hyundai veered to the right, traveled off the interstate and struck a tree.

The impact caused the vehicle to catch fire.

FHP confirmed three adults were killed in the crash. Their identities have not yet been released pending confirmation and notification.

No additional information about the occupants was immediately available.

The outside northbound lane of I-95 remains blocked in the area as troopers continue their investigation. Drivers traveling through the area should expect delays and use caution around emergency crews.

The circumstances that caused the vehicle to leave the roadway remain under investigation.

The Florida Highway Patrol says additional information will be released as it becomes available.
