Man Barricades Himself in Car After Orlando House Fire, Taken for Evaluation
ORLANDO, Fla. — A house fire prompted a large emergency response Thursday evening in an Orlando neighborhood, drawing deputies, firefighters, and investigators to the scene.
LIVE FROM THE SCENE
According to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called to a home in the 7600 block of Treasure Island Court around 7 p.m. on January 30, 2026, after reports of a residential fire. Orange County Fire Rescue crews arrived shortly after and were able to quickly extinguish the flames.
While first responders were working the scene, deputies encountered a male resident in his 20s who locked himself inside a vehicle parked in the driveway and initially refused to exit. After speaking with deputies for a period of time, the man eventually got out of the vehicle and was transported to a local hospital for an evaluation. No further details were released regarding his condition.
The State Fire Marshal has taken over the investigation to determine what caused the fire. At this time, officials have not said whether the home was occupied when the fire started or if there were any injuries related directly to the blaze.
