Lake Panasoffkee Motorcyclist Killed in CR-470 Crash

LAKE PANASOFFKEE, Fla. — A 40-year-old Lake Panasoffkee man died Saturday afternoon following a collision involving a motorcycle and pickup truck on County Road 470, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The crash happened around 2:06 p.m. on September 26, 2026, near the intersection of CR-470 and CR-416N.

According to FHP, a 54-year-old Lake Panasoffkee man was driving a Ford F-150 westbound on CR-470. A Yamaha motorcycle, operated by the 40-year-old man, was traveling westbound behind the pickup.

Troopers said the motorcyclist attempted to pass the truck in a designated passing zone near CR-416N.

At the intersection, the driver of the pickup attempted to make a left turn and entered the path of the motorcycle. The motorcycle then struck the truck, according to FHP.

The motorcyclist was transported to an area hospital, where he later died from injuries suffered in the crash.

The pickup driver’s condition was not immediately provided.

The Florida Highway Patrol continues to investigate the crash.
