Deadly Morning Rollover on State Road 429 Leaves One Dead, Another Fighting for Life
ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — A deadly early-morning crash shut down part of State Road 429 southbound Monday after a pickup truck overturned multiple times, killing one person and seriously injuring another.
According to preliminary information, the crash occurred around 6:08 a.m. on State Road 429 southbound near mile marker 17, just south of Winter Garden Vineland Road.
Investigators say a 2012 Dodge Ram chassis cab truck was traveling southbound when the driver lost control of the vehicle for reasons still under investigation. The truck then overturned multiple times, ejecting the driver.
The 35-year-old male driver from Orlando was pronounced dead at the scene. Officials confirmed the driver was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. Next of kin had not yet been notified as of the latest update.
A 37-year-old male passenger, also from Orlando, was wearing a seatbelt and sustained serious injuries. He was transported to Orlando Regional Medical Center for treatment. His current condition has not been released.
Traffic along State Road 429 was impacted while emergency crews and investigators worked to clear the scene and document evidence. The crash remains under active investigation, and no further details have been released at this time.
