Multi-Vehicle Crash With Injuries Blocks Higley Road in Mesa

MESA, AZ — A multi-vehicle crash caused traffic delays along northbound Higley Road near McDowell Road in Mesa, close to Boeing and Falcon Field Airport, after one of the vehicles struck a traffic signal pole around 6 PM.
The crash was reported along Higley Road approaching McDowell Road and involved multiple vehicles.
At least one person was reported injured in the collision. Details on the number of patients and the severity of their injuries were not immediately available.
During the crash, one vehicle struck a traffic light, knocking the pole down into the roadway and creating an additional hazard for drivers traveling through the area.
The City of Mesa responded to the scene to address the damaged and downed traffic signal equipment.
Two tow trucks also arrived and removed the involved vehicles from the roadway.
Northbound Higley Road was impacted while emergency crews, city workers, and tow operators worked to clear the scene.
Drivers traveling near Boeing and Falcon Field Airport were advised to use caution and expect delays while the roadway was being cleared.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
