Two Seriously Injured After Motorcycle Crash at SR-570 Exit Ramp in Lakeland
LAKELAND, Fla. (iSkyNews.com) — Two Riverview residents were seriously injured Saturday morning after a motorcycle crash at the exit ramp from State Road 570 to Lakeland Highlands Road, according to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP).
The crash occurred around 10:50 a.m. on October 4, 2025, when a 44-year-old man from Riverview was riding a Harley-Davidson motorcycle westbound on SR-570. As he approached the intersection at the end of the exit ramp, troopers say the rider entered the intersection under a red traffic signal and collided with a curb in the center median.
The impact caused both the rider and his 49-year-old female passenger, also from Riverview, to be ejected from the motorcycle. Emergency crews responded to the scene, and both victims were transported to an area hospital with serious injuries.
The Florida Highway Patrol continues to investigate the circumstances of the crash.
⚠️ Authorities remind all motorists — especially motorcyclists — to remain alert at intersections and always obey traffic signals. A few seconds of patience can prevent life-changing consequences.
