Pasco Sheriff’s Office Mourns Deputy Found Dead in Land O’ Lakes

LAND O’ LAKES, Fla. — The Pasco Sheriff’s Office is mourning the loss of one of its deputies following a death at a sheriff’s office facility Wednesday morning.

According to the agency, the deputy was found deceased around 8 a.m. on August 19 inside the Pasco Sheriff’s Office construction facility in the Charles Bo Harrison Way area of Land O’ Lakes.

The sheriff’s office said the deputy appeared to have died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

In a statement, the Pasco Sheriff’s Office said it was sharing the news with “profound sadness.” The deputy’s name was not immediately released.

No additional details about the circumstances surrounding the death were provided.

The sheriff’s office also reminded the community that help is available for anyone experiencing a mental health crisis or thoughts of suicide.
