Arizona Firefighter Killed in Tragic Motorcycle Crash on Way to Work

The Timber Mesa Fire and Medical District has officially identified the firefighter who tragically lost his life in the line of duty on October 3, 2025, as Firefighter EMT Glenn Collins, age 46.


At approximately 6:44 a.m., Firefighter Collins was involved in a fatal vehicle collision on Lone Pine Dam Road near milepost 7.5, just outside of Show Low. According to responding deputies, the incident was a head-on collision between a motorcycle and a truck. Firefighter EMT Glenn Collins, who was operating the motorcycle, sustained fatal injuries. The other driver, a 21-year-old woman from Show Low, was also involved in the crash.

SHOW LOW, Ariz. — The Timber Mesa Fire and Medical District is mourning the death of one of its firefighters who was tragically killed in a motorcycle accident early Thursday morning.

According to a statement released by the department, the accident occurred on October 3rd at approximately 6:45 a.m. while the firefighter was riding his motorcycle to work.

“It is with profound sadness that Timber Mesa Fire and Medical District announces the passing of one of our firefighters who was tragically killed in a vehicle accident while riding his motorcycle on his way to work,” the department said.

Out of respect for the family, Timber Mesa officials said the firefighter’s name will not be released until all notifications have been made.

“Our entire organization is grieving the loss of another one of our own,” the statement continued. “We ask for privacy as we support family, friends, and fellow firefighters during this very difficult time.”

The district’s Public Information Officer, Trinity Savage, urged the public and media to respect the family’s privacy and to refrain from sharing unverified information.

As the tight-knit firefighting community in Show Low and the surrounding White Mountains area processes the loss, tributes are expected to pour in from agencies and residents across the region.

Timber Mesa Fire and Medical District serves the communities of Show Low, Lakeside, Pinetop, and surrounding areas in Navajo County.

Further information, including the firefighter’s identity and memorial details, will be released once family notifications are complete.
