According to the West Melbourne Police Department, only patients who hold a valid Florida Medical Marijuana Use Registry card, obtained through a qualified Florida physician, are legally authorized to purchase or possess medical marijuana in the state.

This lack of reciprocity means that patients with medical marijuana prescriptions from states like Arizona, California, or Colorado cannot legally use their out-of-state cards to obtain cannabis in Florida dispensaries.
