MESA, AZ (iSkyNews) – An alert off-duty Mesa Police detective came across a domestic violence victim Tuesday afternoon at the Bashas shopping plaza near Higley and Brown Roads.

According to Mesa Police, the woman reported she had been involved in a domestic violence altercation approximately 15 minutes earlier. Patrol officers quickly responded to the scene at 1122 N. Higley Rd. around 4:00 p.m., taking over the investigation.

Mesa Fire and Medical personnel also responded, and the victim was transported to a nearby hospital for evaluation and treatment.
