Osceola County, Fla. – A 23-year-old man from West Palm Beach was killed Friday morning in a head-on crash involving a semi-truck in Osceola County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP).
The crash happened at 8:37 a.m. on Nova Road, just north of Deer Park Road. Troopers say a 2025 Volkswagen Jetta was traveling northbound when the driver veered into the southbound lane—directly into the path of a 2009 semi-truck with a trailer.
The two vehicles collided front-end to front-end. The driver of the Jetta was pronounced dead at the scene. Troopers confirmed he had been wearing a seatbelt, but his next of kin has not yet been notified.
The 42-year-old semi-truck driver from Orlando sustained minor injuries and was transported to St. Cloud Hospital. He was also wearing a seatbelt.
The roadway was closed for several hours as FHP investigated the scene and cleared debris. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
