Clearwater, FL - Julian McMahon, the actor we all knew from shows like "FBI: Most Wanted" and "Nip/Tuck," and who played Doctor Doom in those early 2000s "Fantastic Four" movies, has passed away. He was just 56.
His wife confirmed today, July 2, 2025, that he died peacefully in Clearwater, Florida, after a private fight with cancer.
Julian was one of those actors who just had this incredible presence on screen. So many of us remember him as the complicated Dr. Christian Troy in "Nip/Tuck," a role that even got him a Golden Globe nomination. And more recently, he was fantastic as Jess LaCroix leading the team on "FBI: Most Wanted."
And who could forget him as the iconic villain, Doctor Doom, in the "Fantastic Four" movies from 2005 and 2007? Before all the big Hollywood roles, he was a familiar face back home in Australia on "Home and Away," and he had a pretty memorable run as Cole Turner on "Charmed" too.
His wife, Kelly Paniagua McMahon, shared a heartfelt statement, saying, "With an open heart, I wish to share with the world that my beloved husband, Julian McMahon, died peacefully this week after a valiant effort to overcome cancer." She added, "Julian loved life. He loved his family. He loved his friends. He loved his work, and he loved his fans. His deepest wish was to bring joy into as many lives as possible."
It's clear from all the tributes pouring in that he really made an impact on so many people, both his colleagues and his fans. He leaves behind his wife, Kelly, and his daughter, Madison. It's truly a loss for the acting world.
