Troopers Chase Down Angry Fugitive on I-10 in Buckeye

BUCKEYE, AZ — In a turn of events no one saw coming (except maybe the goat), Arizona Highway Patrol Troopers found themselves in a full-blown livestock pursuit Monday evening after reports flooded in about a “large goat” dodging traffic on I-10 near Miller Road.

Troopers arrived quickly and, after eyes-on confirmation, declared the suspect “indeed large — and very angry.”Witnesses say the goat was not pulling over, not cooperating, and clearly not a fan of traffic laws.

After a brief foot chase — during which the goat allegedly resisted arrest with a series of unpredictable head bobs — officers managed to detain the horned highway hazard. No humans were harmed. The goat’s pride, however, may have taken a hit.

Nicknamed “Charlie” by Phoenix dispatchers, the goat was taken into custody and temporarily housed by Buckeye Animal Rescue and Kennel (BARK) while officials attempt to locate the rightful owner (or undercover escape accomplice).

No ID tag, no driver’s license, no registration — just a stare that says, “You’ll never take me alive.”

Authorities are reminding the public: If you see anything strange on the road — whether it’s a runaway goat, UFO, or suspiciously fast tumbleweed — call it in. Arizona roads are wild enough.
