CHANDLER, AZ — Drivers traveling through Chandler will face significant detours this summer. Beginning Monday night, June 30 at 11:30 p.m., the eastbound Loop 202 Santan Freeway on- and off-ramps at Dobson Road will shut down for approximately 60 days, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT).

The closures are part of a major freeway widening project between Loop 101 and Val Vista Drive, aimed at improving traffic flow and roadway capacity. ADOT says the ramps are expected to reopen in late August—but not before causing a temporary headache for East Valley commuters.

Drivers approaching the construction zone (as shown in the image above) are urged to reduce speed and merge with caution. Speed limits have been lowered to 55 MPH for everyone’s safety.

💬 “We ask all motorists to stay alert, slow down, and give workers room,” ADOT said in a statement.
