SACATON, AZ — A routine traffic stop last week turned into a full-blown DUI arrest after an Arizona Department of Public Safety (AZDPS) Trooper pulled over a vehicle on SR-87 northbound for unsafe passing and following too closely.

According to AZDPS, the female driver initially attempted to conceal her identity, providing false names and a fake Social Security number. However, Troopers suspected impairment and conducted a breath test — the result was shocking: 0.243% BAC, more than three times the legal limit of 0.08%.

Following the arrest, Troopers uncovered her true identity and discovered that her driver’s license had been suspendeddue to a prior violation.

The driver was promptly booked for DUIproviding false information, and driving on a suspended license.
