We’re heartbroken to share that Harris Yulin, the acclaimed actor whose work spanned more than six decades, passed away on June 10 in New York City. He was 87.

To Ghostbusters fans, he’ll forever be remembered as Judge Stephen “The Hammer” Wexler in Ghostbusters II—a role that perfectly captured his sharp presence and dry wit.

Yulin’s career was filled with unforgettable performances. From Scarface and Clear and Present Danger to Bean and Training Day, he brought intensity and depth to every role. He also earned an Emmy nomination for his guest spot on Frasier, and more recently, delighted audiences with appearances in Ozark, Veep, and The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt.

Beyond the screen, Yulin was a force in theater, with a stage career that ran alongside his film and TV work for much of his life.

He was one of those rare talents who could do it all—and did, with grace and grit.

Our thoughts are with his family, friends, and everyone who loved his work.
