Eloy Firefighters Step Up to Support Local Food Bank in Summer Heat

ELOY, AZ —Eloy Fire District firefighters traded fire hoses for food boxes this morning as they partnered with the Community Action Human Resources Agency (CAHRA) to support a community food bank distribution.

With temperatures soaring under the Arizona sun, firefighters joined CAHRA staff and volunteers in setting up distribution stations, loading cars, and handing out essential food supplies to local residents. The event was held outdoors, and spirits were high despite the intense heat.

📦 Dozens of boxes from St. Mary’s Food Bank lined the lot, filled with fresh fruits, pantry staples, and more—all delivered with a smile from the Eloy team and community members alike.

“This is what being part of a community is all about,” said one firefighter during the event. “We don’t just serve during emergencies—we’re here to support people in everyday ways too.”

From managing traffic flow to stacking watermelons, the teamwork on display reflected the heart of Eloy: neighbors helping neighbors.
