AJPD Officer, Driver Hospitalized After Crash at Apache Trail and Delaware Drive

APACHE JUNCTION, Ariz. — An Apache Junction police officer and another driver were hospitalized following a two-vehicle collision Tuesday at Apache Trail and Delaware Drive, according to the Apache Junction Police Department.
Preliminary information from AJPD indicates the officer was traveling through the intersection with a green light when another vehicle entered the intersection against a red light.
The vehicles collided in the intersection.
Both the officer and the driver of the other vehicle were transported to a local hospital for treatment. Police said both are currently in stable condition.
Authorities have not released additional information about the extent of their injuries or whether any citations or charges are expected.
The collision remains under investigation.
AJPD said additional details will be released as they become available.
