MARANA, Ariz. — Marana Police are conducting a death investigation at Marana High School after a student was found deceased on school grounds early Tuesday morning.
According to information provided to iSkyNews.com by Marana Police Public Information Officer Vincent “Jimmy” Rizzi, officers responded to Marana High School, 12000 W. Emigh Road, at approximately 6:47 a.m. Tuesday, September 8, after a body was discovered on the campus.
Police said preliminary information indicates an individual broke into the school campus at approximately 1:30 a.m. and was later discovered by staff.
Responding officers located one deceased individual.
Police have since confirmed that the person was a Marana High School student. The student’s identity has not been publicly released. Next of kin has been notified.
Marana Police said the incident appears to be isolated and involves a single individual.
