Mesa Police Investigate Evening Shooting That Left One Man Injured / Prime News Network

MESA, Ariz. — An adult male is recovering after being shot Thursday evening in Mesa, according to the Mesa Police Department.
Officers responded to the 600 block of West 5th Avenue at approximately 7:40 p.m. following reports of a shooting.
When officers arrived, they located an adult male suffering from injuries consistent with a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a nearby hospital, where police said his injuries are believed to be non-life-threatening.
The suspect fled the area before officers arrived and has not yet been located.
Mesa Police detectives are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting, including what led up to the incident.
Authorities said there is no ongoing threat to the community at this time.
