OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. — Three people were killed and several others were seriously injured Monday morning in a violent three-vehicle crash on State Road 60 in Osceola County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The crash happened at approximately 6:29 a.m. Monday, October 5, 2026, on State Road 60 west of Peavine Road.
According to an official FHP press release provided to iSkyNews.com, a 2019 Chevrolet Express van was traveling westbound on State Road 60 when, for reasons still under investigation, the van left the roadway onto the right shoulder.
Investigators said the 52-year-old Miami man driving the van overcorrected to the left, causing the vehicle to enter the eastbound travel lane directly into the path of a 2025 Ram 1500 pickup truck.
The front left side of the van collided with the front left side of the pickup truck.
Following the initial impact, FHP said the van began overturning toward the eastbound shoulder, where it entered the path of a 2023 Toyota Corolla that had been traveling behind the pickup.
The van then struck the front right side of the Toyota.
Three Killed in Crash
The 52-year-old driver of the Chevrolet Express van and two passengers inside the van were pronounced dead at the scene, according to FHP.
One of the passengers killed was identified in the report as a 22-year-old man. FHP said the Medical Examiner's Office will contact investigators once the other deceased passenger has been positively identified.
Next of kin had not yet been notified at the time the press release was issued.
Three additional occupants of the van, including men listed as 30, 34 and 26 years old, suffered serious injuries.
Multiple Victims Taken to Hospitals
The 52-year-old Lakeland man driving the Ram pickup truck suffered serious injuries, while a 47-year-old female passenger from Lakeland was listed in critical condition.
The pickup's driver, passenger and another passenger from the van were transported to HCA Florida Lawnwood Hospital.
Two additional passengers from the van were transported to Osceola Regional Medical Center.
The 34-year-old Haines City man driving the Toyota Corolla suffered minor injuries. He and a passenger in the Corolla were transported to Indian River Memorial Hospital.
FHP said identification information for the Corolla's passenger was still pending.
