MESA, Ariz. — A suspected impaired driver was arrested Saturday after a two-vehicle crash sent an SUV crashing through a brick wall and into a residential backyard in Mesa.
The collision occurred near Brown Road and Val Vista Drive, where Mesa Police responded to investigate the crash.

According to witnesses at the scene, a black SUV collided with a black pickup truck before leaving the roadway and crashing through a brick wall. The impact scattered debris across a nearby residential property and caused significant damage.
Witnesses told Reporters the female driver of the SUV was confrontational with officers during the investigation before she was ultimately taken into custody on suspicion of driving under the influence.
The extent of any injuries has not been released.
Mesa Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
