Suspected Drunk Driver Arrested After Crashing Into Pinellas Park Police Cruiser, FHP Says

PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. — A suspected impaired driver was arrested early Saturday morning after crashing into a marked Pinellas Park Police Department patrol vehicle at a busy intersection in Pinellas County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The crash occurred at approximately 3:20 a.m. on June 27, 2026, at the intersection of Ulmerton Road and 49th Street North.

According to FHP, a Chevrolet Traverse was traveling eastbound on Ulmerton Road when the driver failed to stop for a red traffic signal. At the same time, a marked Pinellas Park Police Department patrol vehicle was traveling westbound and was attempting to make a left turn under a green traffic signal.

The SUV collided with the police vehicle in the intersection.

Fortunately, the officer driving the patrol vehicle was not injured in the crash.

Following the investigation, Florida Highway Patrol troopers determined that the driver of the Chevrolet Traverse, 27-year-old Jessica Harvey of Avon, Indiana, was impaired at the time of the collision.

Harvey was arrested on DUI-related charges. Additional information regarding the specific charges has not yet been released.

The crash remains under investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol.
