Officer Fatally Shoots Armed Suspect During Domestic Incident in Chandler

CHANDLER, Ariz. — A domestic disturbance in a Chandler neighborhood Saturday morning ended in a fatal officer-involved shooting after police encountered a man armed with a shotgun, according to the Chandler Police Department.
The incident occurred shortly before 10:15 a.m. on June 27, 2026, in the 900 block of East Laredo Street.
According to Chandler Police, officers responded to reports of a domestic dispute at the residence. The first officer to arrive observed a man, later identified as Jeremiah Louis Partridge, 32 (DOB: July 5, 1993), standing in the front yard holding a shotgun. Officers also observed a woman seated inside a nearby vehicle.
Police said the responding officer gave Partridge multiple commands to drop the shotgun. Moments later, an officer-involved shooting occurred, with one officer firing multiple rounds that struck the suspect.
Once the scene was secured, officers immediately began life-saving efforts until personnel with the Chandler Fire Department arrived. Despite those efforts, Partridge was pronounced dead at the scene.
No officers, the woman at the scene, or any other individuals were injured during the incident.
Under the East Valley Critical Incident Response Team (EVCIRT) protocol, the Mesa Police Department will conduct the independent investigation into the officer-involved shooting. Chandler Police will continue handling the investigation into the original domestic disturbance call.
Additional details, including what led to the domestic dispute and the events immediately preceding the shooting, have not yet been released. The investigation remains active.
