When a deputy arrived, she discovered a red 2018 Hyundai resting on a sidewalk, along with a woman sitting beside the vehicle.

Deputies identified the woman as 34-year-old Erika Mayer of Palmetto.

Authorities say Erika was not physically injured, but deputies observed that she appeared incoherent, unsteady on her feet, and had slurred speech. Investigators also noted the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from her breath.

A witness told deputies they allegedly saw Erika driving the vehicle across one of the golf courses before the crash.

Despite the observations, deputies say Erika denied consuming alcohol.

During the investigation, deputies reportedly discovered a large amount of alcohol inside the vehicle, including:

🟢 One unopened 10-pack of Fireball Cinnamon Whiskey (50 mL bottles)
🟢 21 open Fireball Cinnamon Whiskey bottles (50 mL each)
🟢 Two empty 50 mL bottles of 99 Brand liqueur
