ORLANDO, Fla. — A citywide DUI enforcement operation in downtown Orlando quickly turned chaotic after a driver allegedly struck a police vehicle, crashed into a tree, and attempted to flee on foot, according to the Orlando Police Department.

The incident happened during a DUI operation on March 5, 2026, near the intersection of East Amelia Street and North Orange Avenue.
According to Orlando Police, officers initiated a traffic stop on a driver suspected of impaired driving. Investigators say the driver, identified as 20-year-old Milton Morrison, refused officers’ commands during the stop.
Police say Morrison then placed the vehicle into reverse and struck a marked Orlando Police patrol car while attempting to escape.
Moments later, Morrison reportedly crashed into a tree before abandoning the vehicle and fleeing the scene on foot.
Officers quickly located Morrison nearby and took him into custody without further incident.
During the arrest, officers say they recovered a felony amount of cannabis.
Morrison was charged accordingly and transported to the Orange County Jail.
The Orlando Police Department emphasized that impaired driving continues to pose a serious threat to public safety and stated that proactive DUI enforcement operations will continue throughout the city.
“Impaired driving puts everyone at risk,” Orlando Police said in a statement.
No officers were reported injured during the incident.
